UPDATE: I found the solution here (in the comments) 'For all of you who cant save your progress in FarCry 5 CPY edition: Here is the Trick: -> Goto the folder where CPY creates the save location, i.e goto Documents->CPY_SAVES->CPY->UPLAY->1803. Copy the contents and create a backup of it(mostly you will have 1 & 2). Now go to your game directory where you installed the game,eg. Inside this folder create a folder called saves.Now goto Cpy.ini file and open with notepad.

You will see a savepath there. Rename the savepath to something like this.' SavePath=D: Games Far Cry 5 saves '(no quotes required while pasting and change the directory to your directory eg.if game is installed in C: ProgramFiles it will be like SavePath = C: ProgramFiles Far Cry5 saves). Now run the game you will see new game option. Now close the game and goto the Saves folder which you creates inisde the farcry 5 folder. You will see a new folder called CPY_saves.

Goto CPY_saves->CPY->UPLAY->1803->1.save Now replace these saves with the ones you backed up in the first. Note: if you have 1 & 2 in the backup.

Check which is bigger in size. 1 will be around 20KB while 2 will be around 220KB. In this case paste the 2 in the saves folder and rename it to 1.

I am always playing until i completely liberate Dutch's Island and i am send to Fall's End. Then i hit save and quit the game to desktop. Today i tried it to quit just to main menu. And when i hit continue there, error granite-2000000 pop up and save woud't load even then.

So for some reason, game save is getting corupted when leaving and when the game is launched next time, it creates new one. I will try today completely unninstaling it and trying installing it from different download. Edit: Manually saving bumped the save file size up to 239kb, just after exiting Dutch's bunker for the first time. I tried quitting to main menu, and an error: something about 'Granite-200000'. The continue option was there, but clicking it took me to a loading screen before kicking me back to the main menu with the same error message. The save file is still sitting at 239kb even after quitting to desktop, however running the game wipes the save (back to 20kb, no 'Continue' option on main menu). This seems to happen after the AMD/Ubisoft logo videos.

I have no idea what to do from here. Edit 2: I tried changing the AppID and the save location in CPY.ini, and it did create a new save folder, but it still overwrites the save file when running the game, so it seems like it's definitely a problem with the game itself (rather than OneDrive or something) Any luck? I have the same problem, just downloaded the Fitgirl repack to see if that works.

It's like you said, the game creates a save file, which increases in size as you play (after launching a New Game it's around 32kb), but once you quit out of the game it seems to overwrite it (about 20kb file size) and corrupts it. One thing I haven't tried is Alt-Tabbing out and making a backup of the save before quitting. I'm running the intro in the background as I type this (I get it, you're proud of the fact that you made a pretty cutscene, but after watching it for the 3rd time I just want to fucking skip it!), so I'll update if it works.
